This is a planning estimate under current South Korea rules. The statutory benefit floor depends on the hourly minimum wage and the worker's scheduled hours, so it is not separately modeled here. Individual eligibility, day-level proration, amounts already paid by the employer, contract-end special rules, and final agency determinations can change the result.
South Korea maternity leave is 90 days for a singleton and 120 days for a multiple birth. For a priority-supported employer, employment insurance supports the full leave period and the employer covers any required ordinary-wage difference during the first 60 days, or 75 days for a multiple birth. For a large employer, the employer pays ordinary wage for those first 60 or 75 days and employment insurance supports the final 30 or 45 days. Current Work24 guidance shows a KRW 2.1 million cap per 30 days. A cap revision was only under administrative preannouncement on 2026-08-25, so this calculator keeps the currently effective amount.
